I’ve said since last year that the point guards in the ’25 class are as strong and deep as any positional group in the region. Many are attracting division 1 interest, and a handful have received at least 1 offer. The “Point Gawd” train may seem at full capacity, but before this locomotive leaves the station, I would like to add one more. Who could it be?

Name: Jaycee Merizalde
School: Perkiomen School
Height: 5’6”
POS: PG
Yog: 2025
I remember watching Merizalde last year at the Connecticut Top 30 Showcase, and 365 days later, in the same event, she was the toughest guard. When I match up Merizalde against other point guards in her class who are around her size (5’7” and shorter), she is the strongest and one of the best at absorbing contact on drives, staying under control, and finishing. Merizalde is a bonafide bucket who makes a living mixing up defenders in the second level and creating enough space to get her shot off on good defense. Merizalde is a physical defender who can make opposing point guards’ lives miserable every possession. I would pay close attention to her this winter at Perkiomen. I think this winter could be a big one for her.
